Many of the photographs I am showing here are composed studio portraits  of tools that I use every day to create my work. All of them have a history,  some of it known to me and much of it unknown, like later life relationships.  They are objects that I love. Other images are composed by chance,  seemingly waiting to be observed. I find that beautiful compositions often  present themselves in the most unlikely of places. 

Charlie is a multidisciplinary artist living in Montclair, NJ. He attended the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1974 to 1978, then moved to New York  and embedded himself in the East Village music and art scene of the late  70's and 80's. He moved to Montclair in 1995 and has focused on  hand-forging architectural ironwork as well as creating artwork in a broad  variety of materials. He has numerous commissioned artworks throughout New York and New Jersey.
